Frederick George Pitcher and his wife Kathleen May Pitcher started the business in 1971.
Fred and Kath had lived in Bridport all their lives, and learnt the trade from working with local fishmongers and fruit and vegetable Merchants.
Until finally opening their own shop in west street Bridport, building up their trade into a thriving local family business which continued to do well for the next 19 years. In 1990 due to the need for better premises a move was made to a refurbished custom built property in South Street, where the business continued to flourish.
After many years of working and learning the trade from my parents I decided to carry on trading after their retirement. Enlarging and improving our range even further, to not only include a wide selection of fresh fish and select amount of fruit and vegetables, but many home made products also.
Which has helped our business to continue successfully.
